Karpinski Engineering provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) design of the renovation of Lorain County Community College’s College Center facility. The new College Center is an $18 million renovation and expansion of the existing 124,000 SF facility. This facility includes multipurpose rooms, an expanded college bookstore, dining facilities, administrative offices and spaces for student organizations such as a radio station and student government. The project design included a two-story atrium area with the design of a daylight harvesting system to reduce electric power required for artificial lighting.
In addition to the MEP design services required for normal temperature control, plumbing and fire protection/fire alarm system; work included the provision of conduit and rough-in for Audio Visual, Security Surveillance, and voice and data systems.
