Karpinski Engineering provided mechanical, electrical, cvil, plumbing and technology design services for Marymount Hospital's new 45,000-SF Surgery Center expansion. The project scope includes 30,000-SF of renovations which are slated for completion during the first quarter of 2013. The $45 million project included larger operating rooms and advanced surgical technology, including: Endoscopic; ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat); General Surgery; Gynecologic; Neurological; Oral/Dental; Orthopedic; Pain Management; Plastic/Cosmetic; Podiatric; Urologic; and Vascular.
Phase 1 included seven new operating rooms, one minor procedure room and a sterile processing department. Phase II includes renovation of existing clinical space, as well as the addition of two endoscopy rooms, a bronchoscopy room and space for 18 private pre- and post-operative patient rooms.
Designed with patients and families in mind, the Surgery Center features a spacious two-story atrium and comfortable family waiting areas in a serene environment.
Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) concepts were utilized from concept to completion - reducing risks and costs, maintaining the construction schedule and producing an overall better project outcomes.
The new Surgery Center has been submitted for LEED Silver certification.
