Karpinski Engineering Donates to Kent State University’s New May 4 Visitors Center
ent State University's new May 4 Visitors Center opened to the public on October 20, and Karpinski Engineering was pleased to donate mechanical, electrical and technology engineering design services for renovation of the Center.
The May 4 Visitors Center is located on the first floor of Taylor Hall in the center of the historic site, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010 by the National Park Service of the U.S. Department of the Interior.
The Center houses a permanent collection aimed at education, interpretation and reflection and features photography, maps, newspaper articles and virtual educational exhibits as well as a multimedia self-guided tour of the 18-acre historic site. Visitors can explore exhibits to learn more about the events of May 4, 1970, and its historic impact on a national level, while honoring the memory of the four Kent State students who lost their lives and the nine others who were wounded on that tragic day.
