Karpinski Engineering, a Cleveland-based multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm, has added a new Pittsburgh location. This is Karpinski Engineering’s fourth regional location, with other regional offices in Columbus, Akron-Canton, and western New York.
“We are proud to open our Pittsburgh office,” said Karpinski Engineering President Jim Cicero, PE, LEED AP. “This is part of a decade-long trend of growth for Karpinski Engineering, and growth provides many opportunities for our clients and our staff.”
Over the last ten years, Karpinski Engineering’s revenue has more than doubled. The firm has also developed specialty services, such as commissioning, fire protection, and building performance and sustainability, to help add value to clients’ projects.
Pittsburgh is a natural fit for Karpinski Engineering, with areas of expertise that align with the region’s areas of growth.
“From a business perspective, Pittsburgh and Cleveland are very similar markets,” said Cicero. “The healthcare, education, and corporate sectors are very strong in both cities. We believe we can translate our experience in these market sectors to serve the Pittsburgh community.”
The Pittsburgh office will be led by James Dudt, PE, LEED AP BD+C (photo at right). James grew up in western Pennsylvania and attended Grove City College. Six years ago, he moved from Pittsburgh to Cleveland to join Karpinski Engineering. He is looking forward to re-establishing himself and his family in the Pittsburgh area.
“Karpinski Engineering’s culture is one of regional growth,” said Dudt. “We want to be part of the community, part of the fabric of the design community.”
As Karpinski Engineering establishes itself in Pittsburgh, it is also seeking new team members to join the staff.
Dudt noted that Pittsburgh has a very renaissance, recovery culture. “And now, we’re seeing another new wave of transformation supporting the area’s growth,” he said.
The firm has previously served on projects in western and southwestern Pennsylvania and is currently engaged on a number of projects in the region.
“We have built our business one relationship at a time, and we look forward to developing many new long-lasting relationships in the Pittsburgh community,” said Cicero.
