Associate Shawn Callahan has been named Karpinski Engineering’s Director of Electrical Engineering.
As Director, Shawn will play a pivotal role in shaping the electrical department’s work. He will be responsible for the department’s technical standards, and he will manage department staffing and workflow. He will continue to work with clients on projects.
The move was already in motion when Shawn was promoted to Associate earlier this year.
“The Director of Electrical Engineering is responsible for continually advancing the department’s technical knowledge,” said KE President Jim Cicero, PE, LEED AP. “Shawn’s high level of technical proficiency really suits him to this role.”
Shawn has been a member of the KE team since 2006. During that time, he has become a leader on sophisticated electrical projects. He also stands out as a mentor and teacher.
“Shawn’s open-door policy and his readiness to serve will benefit the entire electrical department,” Jim said.
Shawn earned his Bachelor of Applied Math and Bachelor of Applied Science from Eastern Michigan University, and his Bachelor and Master of Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University. His ICU corridor lighting controls design for Cleveland Clinic’s Fairview Hospital won a 2014 IES Lighting Control Innovation Award.
